Origin and History
The Lorem Ipsum text is derived from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of “De finibus bonorum et malorum,” a 1st-century BC Latin text by the Roman statesman and philosopher Cicero. The passage was altered, added to, and rearranged to create a nonsensical sequence that mimics the appearance of standard written language. This practice dates back to the 1500s when an unknown printer scrambled a section of Cicero’s work to create a type specimen book. The text gained widespread popularity in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and it was later included in desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker in the 1980s
